福建，簡稱“閩”，位于中國東南沿海。全省現轄福州、廈門、漳州、泉州、三明、莆田、南平、龍巖、寧德9個設區市和平潭綜合實驗區，85個縣（市）、區，常住人口3874萬人。

Fujian, also named "Min", is located in the southeastern coast of China and has 85 counties and districts in a total of 9 cities, including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Sanming, Putian, Nanping, Longyan and Ningde, and Pingtan Integrated Experimental Zone within its jurisdiction, with a permanent population of 37.84 million.

福建，依山傍海，資源豐富。福建九成陸地面積為山地和丘陵，被稱為“八山一水一分田”。福建的森林覆蓋率達65.95%，居全國第一。福建的海岸線長度居全國第二位，海岸曲折，島嶼星羅棋布。全省大部分屬中亞熱帶，是同緯度線上生態保存最完好的地區之一，長年溫和舒適，擁有鼓浪嶼、武夷山、白水洋、太姥山、客家土樓、三坊七巷等自然人文景觀。

Fujian has mountains and oceans and rich resources within its territory. As 90% of its land area is covered by hills, people also introduce Fujian as having "eight mountains, one water and one field". Fujian has the highest forest coverage ratio of 65.95% in China and the second longest coastline in China, with a complicated shoreline and extensively and randomly distributed islands. Most parts of Fujian belong to the mid-subtropical zone and it is one of the regions with the best-preserved ecology on the same latitude. With a mild and comfortable climate throughout the year, Fujian boasts of many famous natural and humanistic landscapes, including Gulangyu Island, Wuyi Mountain, Baishuiyang, Taimu Mountain, Hakka Earthen Buildings and the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys.

福建，依托僑鄉，擴大開放。福建是中國著名僑鄉，旅居海外的閩籍華人華僑約為1580萬，分布在180多個國家和地區。其中，馬來西亞、菲律賓、印尼這三地的閩籍華人華僑最多。福建居于中國東海與南海的交通要沖，是中國距東南亞、西亞、東非和大洋洲最近的省份之一。經過三十多年的發展，福建已形成全方位、多層次、寬領域的對外開放格局。

As a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, Fujian is the origin of about 15.8 million overseas Chinese whom are distributed in 180+ countries and regions. Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia have the most overseas Chinese among all countries. Fujian is situated at the critical transportation junction between the East China Sea and the South China Sea and one of the provinces closest to Southeast Asia, West Asia, East Africa and Oceania. After thirty-plus years of development, Fujian has established an all-around, multi-leveled and extensive system of opening-up and foreign investment.

Fujian has a robust economy and a complete assurance system and its manufacturing, agricultural, trade and commercial, emerging and modern service industries have been developing on a fast track. In 2014, Fujian's per capita GDP exceeded USD 10,000. It also has a well-established network of motorways and railways, particularly high-speed trains. Its seaport, airport, communication and energy supply infrastructures are highly developed and significant achievements have been made in the "Digital Fujian" Initiative. The nine-year compulsory education system, the three-leveled medical assurance system (provincial, municipal and county levels) and the social security protection system are fully implemented. The public cultural service network is gradually improving.
